I shouldn’t be giving dating advice

Valentine’s Day is looming. Regardless of what you think about the day, it’s a time of year that people give thought to their relationships. In a past blog, I have talked about the value of a good sense of humor – and how it is important to relationships.

Recently, I was interviewed about humor and dating, and I again got to say something that I think is important. If you are interested in attracting a good romantic partner, you should let your true sense of humor stand shine. Most people won’t like it, but when they do, you will know you have found a good match:

When people say they’re looking for someone with a ‘good’ sense of humor, they mean a well-matched sense of humor,” said McGraw. “You shouldn’t just have an arsenal of jokes that everyone finds funny. Tell the jokes you think are funny, and if your date doesn’t laugh, you’re saving yourself from another bad date.
